Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, and Chief Secretary Sindh, Asif Hyder Shah, have expressed deep concern over the reporting of a polio case in Union Council No. 2 of Matli, District Badin. The Emergency Operation Center (EOC) has officially confirmed the case.
Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah contacted the Commissioner Hyderabad and directed him to submit a detailed report within 24 hours. He stated that polio is an incurable disease, and the only effective protection against it is timely vaccination.
He urged parents to ensure that their children receive polio drops without fail to safeguard them from lifelong disability. He further stated that the nationwide anti-polio campaign will commence on September 1, and parents must fulfill their national responsibility by actively participating.
The Chief Secretary emphasized that the success of the polio eradication campaign depends on the active role of parents, communities, and local leadership. He also highlighted that along with polio vaccination, completing the full schedule of other routine immunizations is equally essential for ensuring a healthy and safe future for children.
