ABBOTTABAD: The Department of Livestock and Dairy Development Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has executed fumigation around the cattle markets in all districts of Hazara division for controlling the possible outbreak of Cango.
Director Livestock Dr. Abdul WaheedAlvi said here on Monday that the all the sacrificial animals that have been brought to cattle markets in Battagram, Manshera, Abbottabad and Haripur have been vaccinated against Tikes. He said that all the owners of cattle markets have been directed to take precautionary measures against Cango virus to save the citizens from contracting any potential disease.
He further said that after reports of 17 deaths in Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab due to Cango virus, the department has taken emergency step to fumigate all the cattle market as well as the cattle. Dr.Waheed said that the fumigation would continue till Eidul Azha and cattle owners have been advised to cooperate with the department in this regard.
